GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEGOLAND DEUTSCHLAND FREIZEITARK GMBH FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE MERLIN ADVENTURE PASS

By purchasing a Merlin Adventure Pass, you acknowledge and accept these General Terms and Conditions ("GTC") of LEGOLAND® Deutschland Freizeitpark GmbH, LEGOLAND Allee 1, 89312 Günzburg ("LEGOLAND"), governing the purchase of the Pass.
These GTC shall apply exclusively to the purchase of the Pass. Any renewal or subsequent purchase of a Pass shall be subject to LEGOLAND's approval and acceptance.
Admission to the individual attractions is additionally subject to the respective house rules or park regulations as well as the online booking conditions of the attraction visited. These are available for inspection both on-site in a prominent location and on the respective attraction's website. Please ensure that you have familiarised yourself with the applicable house rules or park regulations and the online booking conditions before entering any attraction.

§ 1 Eligible Attractions – Use of and Admission to Attractions
1.1 Use at Merlin Attractions in Germany: The Merlin Adventure Pass entitles the named Pass Holder to complimentary admission to the following attractions operated by Merlin, its subsidiaries and partners:

  • Heide Park Resort, Soltau
  • LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort
  • PEPPA PIG Park Günzburg
  • SEA LIFE Timmendorfer Strand
  • SEA LIFE Hannover
  • SEA LIFE Oberhausen
  • SEA LIFE Speyer
  • SEA LIFE Konstanz
  • SEA LIFE Munich
  • Hamburg Dungeon
  • Berlin Dungeon
  • Madame Tussauds Berlin
  • LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Berlin*
  • LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Oberhausen*
  • LEGO® Discovery Centre Hamburg* 

Use at Merlin Attractions in Europe: The Merlin Adventure Pass entitles the named Pass Holder to limited complimentary admission to the following Merlin attractions, subsidiaries and partner attractions:

  • LEGOLAND® Billund
    Benefit: The Pass Holder is entitled to one (1) complimentary visit of up to two (2) consecutive days during the 2026 calendar year, up to and including 31 December 2026, subject to the park's operating calendar. Redeeming the Complimentary Admission Ticket: The Pass Holder must proceed directly to the Ticket Booth or Info Point located at the entrance turnstiles of the park and present their Merlin Adventure Pass and  a valid government-issued photo identification document. Park staff will verify the Pass and issue a complimentary admission ticket valid for two (2) consecutive days. No advance reservation is required. Please note: Each Pass Holder must present their own Merlin Adventure Pass together with valid government-issued photo identification.
  • Gardaland
    Benefit: The Pass Holder is entitled to one (1) complimentary visit of up to two (2) consecutive days during the 2026 calendar year, up to and including 31 December 2026, subject to the park's operating calendar. Redeeming the Complimentary Admission Ticket: The Pass Holder must present their Merlin Adventure Pass together with a valid government-issued photo identification document at the "Castello / Info Point" located at the park's main entrance. Following verification of the Pass, park staff will issue one (1) complimentary admission ticket valid for two (2) consecutive days. No advance reservation is required.
  • Additional European Gateway Attractions
    Benefit: The Pass Holder is entitled to one (1) complimentary single-day admission to each of the Gateway Attractions listed below during the 2026 calendar year, up to and including 31 December 2026, subject to the operating calendar of the respective attraction. Redeeming the Complimentary Admission Ticket: The Pass Holder must present their Merlin Adventure Pass together with a valid government-issued photo identification document either at the ticket office or at the Info Point located at the entrance of the respective attraction. Following verification of the Pass, attraction staff will issue one (1) complimentary one-day admission ticket. No advance reservation is required.
    Please note: Each Pass Holder must present their own Merlin Adventure Pass together with a valid government-issued photo identification document. The participating European Gateway Attractions are:

* Special Provision for LEGO® Discovery Centres and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centres in Germany and Europe  Complimentary admission to the LEGO® Discovery Centres and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centres is available only to holders of Merlin Adventure Passes purchased on or before 31 October 2026.
Passes purchased after 31 October 2026 do not include any entitlement to complimentary admission to the LEGO® Discovery Centres or LEGOLAND® Discovery Centres.

1.2 House Rules and Safety Requirements
Admission to all attractions is additionally subject to the applicable house rules or park regulations displayed at the respective attraction.
In the interests of safety and the orderly and efficient operation of the attractions, the Pass Holder shall, in particular, comply with all instructions issued by employees of the respective attraction.
1.3 Admission to LEGO® Discovery Centres
Adults aged 18 years or over may only enter the following attractions when accompanied by at least one minor child: LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Berlin, LEGO® Discovery Centre Hamburg, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Oberhausen 
Likewise, minor children may only enter these attractions when accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 years or over.
Visitors are expressly referred to the applicable house rules and park regulations governing these attractions.
1.4 Blackout Dates
The Merlin Adventure Pass is subject to blackout dates, being days on which the Pass cannot be used for complimentary admission to one or more attractions (for example, due to special events).
The applicable blackout dates are displayed during the time-slot reservation process and are also published on the website of the respective attraction.
1.5 Crediting the Purchase Price of a Day Ticket
When purchasing a Merlin Adventure Pass, guests may credit the purchase price of a previously purchased day ticket towards the purchase of the Pass.
This applies irrespective of whether the day ticket was purchased online or on-site at one of the attractions listed in Section 1.1.
Such credit may only be applied on the day of the visit and exclusively on-site at the attraction.
1.6 Hamburg Dungeon and Berlin Dungeon
Visits to the Hamburg Dungeon and Berlin Dungeon are not recommended for children under the age of ten (10).
Children aged 10 to 14 years (inclusive) will only be admitted when accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over.
Employees of the attraction are entitled to verify the age of visitors by requesting the presentation of official identification.
Visitors are expressly referred to the applicable house rules of these attractions.
1.7 Changes Due to Force Majeure
The list of attractions set out above may be amended in the event of circumstances constituting Force Majeure that are beyond the control of LEGOLAND® Deutschland and/or the other Merlin attractions.

Furthermore, where events of Force Majeure occur that are beyond the control of LEGOLAND® Deutschland and/or the other Merlin attractions, access to the above attractions and/or the availability or conditions governing the Pass benefits may be amended, restricted or otherwise modified.

§ 2 Personal Data
2.1 Personal Information Required
Each holder of a Merlin Adventure Pass shall provide the following information at the time of purchase:
- first name and surname; 
- postal address of their principal place of residence; 
- e-mail address; 
- date of birth; and 
- a current passport-style photograph accurately depicting the Pass Holder. 
2.2 Photograph and Identity Verification
When purchasing a Merlin Adventure Pass online, the Pass Holder shall upload a recent photograph in which they are clearly identifiable. The photograph will automatically be stored on the digital Pass.
The image data shall be used exclusively for the purpose of verifying the identity of the Pass Holder when visiting an attraction. The image shall not be used for any other purpose.
For identity verification, an employee of the respective attraction will compare the photograph stored on the Pass with the individual presenting the Pass.
For this purpose, the barcode displayed on the Pass will be scanned to enable the photograph to be retrieved and verified.

§ 3 Purchase and Use of the Merlin Adventure Pass
3.1 Purchase of the Pass
The Merlin Adventure Pass may be purchased online via the website of any participating attraction.
The attraction through whose website the Pass is purchased shall have no effect on the scope of the rights and benefits associated with the Merlin Adventure Pass.
Immediately upon conclusion of the purchase contract, the purchaser will receive confirmation by e-mail together with these applicable General Terms and Conditions.
LEGOLAND shall retain the contractual documentation and, upon request, will provide the purchaser with a further copy.
3.2 Digital Pass
The Merlin Adventure Pass is issued exclusively in digital form as a "Digi Pass."
For this purpose, the customer will receive a personalised e-mail containing the online ticket together with the corresponding barcode.
As an alternative to presenting the e-mail, all participating attractions equally accept:
- a printed copy of the barcode; or 
- presentation of the Merlin Adventure Pass stored in a mobile wallet application, such as Apple Wallet. 
These alternatives shall be deemed equivalent proof of entitlement.
3.3 Plastic Card
A physical plastic card will be issued only upon the customer's express request and exclusively at selected attractions listed in Section 1.1, subject to payment of the applicable fee.
A plastic card may be requested at any time during the validity period of the Merlin Adventure Pass.
When requesting a plastic card, the customer must present a valid government-issued photo identification document to enable verification of the personal data provided.
3.4 Ownership of the Plastic Card
Where a plastic card has been issued, ownership of the card shall remain with the issuing attraction at all times.
3.5 Presentation of the Pass
Whenever the Merlin Adventure Pass is used to obtain admission to an attraction, the Pass must be presented and scanned without request upon entry.
Upon request, the Pass Holder shall additionally present a valid government-issued photo identification document to enable verification of the validity of the Pass.
3.6 Personal Nature of the Pass
The Merlin Adventure Pass is issued solely for the personal use of the named Pass Holder.
The Pass is non-transferable and may not be sold, transferred, lent or otherwise made available to any third party.
Any unauthorised transfer or other misuse of the Pass shall entitle LEGOLAND to terminate the Pass with immediate effect for good cause.
In such circumstances, the Pass may immediately be confiscated or electronically blocked by an authorised representative of the respective attraction without any entitlement to compensation.
The same shall apply in the event of serious breaches of the applicable house rules or park regulations.
3.7 Forgotten, Lost or Stolen Pass
If, due to loss, theft or having been forgotten, the Pass or digital Pass cannot be presented when entering an attraction, complimentary admission cannot be granted.
In all other respects, the provisions of Section 9 governing loss and theft shall apply.
3.8 Daily Admission
The Merlin Adventure Pass entitles the Pass Holder to one (1) admission per attraction per calendar day.
3.9 Technical Support
Should any problems arise in connection with the digital Pass (including, without limitation, where the ticket has not been saved or the confirmation e-mail has not been received), please contact:

§ 4 Commencement and Duration of Validity
The Merlin Adventure Pass becomes valid immediately upon purchase and remains valid for a period of 365 consecutive days.
From the date of purchase, the Pass entitles the Pass Holder to visit all attractions listed in Section 1.1.
The Merlin Adventure Pass grants admission to the attractions specified in Section 1.1 for a period of 365 days commencing on the date of purchase.
Use of the Pass is at all times subject to the respective opening days, seasonal operating schedules and opening hours of the individual attractions.
Pass Holders are reminded that certain blackout dates apply on which admission may not be available (see Section 1.4).
The applicable expiry date will be displayed on the digital Pass at the time of purchase or, where a physical Pass has been issued, printed on the Pass itself.
Please note that not all participating attractions operate throughout the entire year. Visitors are advised to consult the opening calendar of the relevant attraction prior to planning their visit.

§ 5 Right of Withdrawal
Consumers who purchase the Merlin Adventure Pass online are entitled to the statutory right of withdrawal described below.

You have the right to withdraw from this Agreement within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period shall expire fourteen (14) days after the date on which the Agreement is concluded.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us:

by means of a clear declaration (for example, a letter sent by post) informing us of your decision to withdraw from this Agreement.
You may use the model withdrawal form set out below; however, its use is not mandatory.
To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning the exercise of your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this Agreement, we shall reimburse all payments received from you, including any delivery charges (with the exception of any supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a method of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and, in any event, no later than fourteen (14) days from the date on which we receive notice of your withdrawal.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment as used by you for the original transaction.
You will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested that the services should commence during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is proportionate to the services already provided up to the time at which you notified us of the exercise of your right of withdrawal, compared with the total scope of the services provided for under the Agreement.

§ 6 Opening Hours
The attractions listed in Section 1.1 reserve the right to vary their opening and closing times at their own discretion, provided that such changes do not result in any material reduction of their operating hours.
Furthermore, for legitimate reasons, including but not limited to safety considerations, construction work or operational requirements, the attractions may close, remove or cancel any rides, attractions, events, activities or facilities, whether in whole or in part.
The purchase of a Merlin Adventure Pass does not give rise to any entitlement to the daily operation of the attractions listed in Section 1.1 throughout the validity period of the Pass.

§ 7 Exclusion of Compensation
No refund, whether in whole or in part, shall be made in respect of the value of the Merlin Adventure Pass where individual attractions or parts of attractions are temporarily closed or removed from the Adventure Pass programme due to construction work, operational reasons and/or safety considerations.
Any claims for damages and/or any right to compensation arising from such closures are expressly excluded.
The Merlin Adventure Pass may not be returned.

§ 8 Optional Extras, Additional Charges and Restrictions
8.1 Optional Extras
As an optional additional service, participating attractions offer a selection of extras that are not included in the purchase price of the Merlin Adventure Pass.
Such extras may be purchased separately for each individual Pass Holder upon payment of the applicable additional charge.
Details of the optional extras currently available, together with the terms governing their use, are published on the websites of the participating attractions.
The range of available extras may vary and is subject to minor changes without prior notice.
Where vouchers are issued in connection with such optional extras, those vouchers shall likewise be personal to the named Pass Holder.
The sale, assignment or transfer of such vouchers is prohibited.
8.2 Special Events
Special events, including but not limited to concerts, seasonal events and themed weekends held at individual attractions, are not included within the benefits provided by the Merlin Adventure Pass.
8.3 Operational Restrictions
In order to comply with statutory requirements, official regulations or other mandatory obligations, or to safeguard the life, health and safety of Pass Holders, visitors and employees, the participating attractions shall be entitled to restrict access to the attractions listed in Section 1.1 or to make admission subject to additional conditions or measures.
Such measures may include, without limitation:
- limiting the number of admissions available to Pass Holders; 
- requiring advance reservation tickets; 
- charging additional fees where applicable. 
When implementing such measures, due consideration shall be given to the local operating conditions of the respective attraction, the additional effort required to ensure lawful operation and the safe enjoyment of the attraction, and the legitimate interests of Pass Holders in unrestricted access to the attractions.

§ 9 Loss and Theft
9.1 Reporting Loss or Theft
The loss or theft of a physical Merlin Adventure Pass (plastic card) must be reported immediately to the attraction that issued the Pass in order to prevent misuse by third parties.
9.2 Replacement Passes
In the event of loss or theft, the issuing attraction may issue a replacement plastic card.
Replacement cards may only be issued by the attraction that originally issued the Pass and only where the personal data specified in Section 2 are available.
A replacement fee shall be payable for the issuance of a replacement card.

§ 10 Other Promotions
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Merlin Adventure Pass may not be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, discount or voucher.

§ 11 Renewal and Subsequent Purchase
The Merlin Adventure Pass may be renewed at the applicable renewal price during the period commencing twenty-seven (27) days before and ending twenty-seven (27) days after the expiry of its validity.
Renewal extends the validity of the Pass by a further 365 days.
Following expiry of this renewal period, a new Merlin Adventure Pass may only be purchased at the standard retail price.
Renewal is available exclusively online.
Where changes have been made to the Merlin Adventure Pass product, renewal cannot be guaranteed.
Each renewal and every subsequent purchase of a Merlin Adventure Pass shall remain subject to LEGOLAND's approval and acceptance.
LEGOLAND will grant such approval only where the Pass Holder agrees to the version of these General Terms and Conditions in force at the time of renewal.

§ 12 Privacy Notice and Identity Verification
12.1 Processing of Personal Data
LEGOLAND processes the personal data provided pursuant to Section 2 for the purposes of performing and administering the Agreement, including the replacement of lost Passes, in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Where necessary for the performance of the Agreement, LEGOLAND may disclose such personal data to the participating companies listed in Section 1.1.
12.2 Marketing Communications
LEGOLAND also processes your e-mail address in order to provide information regarding offers and promotions relating to the Merlin Adventure Pass.
Such processing is based upon Merlin's legitimate interests pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, namely the promotion of Merlin's products and services.
You may object to the use of your e-mail address for marketing purposes at any time with future effect by contacting LEGOLAND using the contact details provided in Section 14.3.
Your personal data will only be disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes where you have expressly consented to such disclosure.
12.3 Storage Period and Data Subject Rights
Your personal data will be deleted or restricted as soon as it is no longer required for the performance of the Agreement, provided that no statutory retention obligations require otherwise.
Your e-mail address may continue to be used after termination of the Agreement for the marketing purposes described in Section 12.2 until you object to such processing.
Upon request, LEGOLAND, acting as the data controller, will provide information regarding the personal data stored about you.
Upon request, LEGOLAND will also rectify, restrict the processing of, or erase your personal data where applicable.
Requests should be submitted using the contact details provided in Section 14.3.

12.4 Identity Verification
Employees of the respective attraction are entitled, during admission checks, to request the presentation of an official photo identification document in order to verify the identity of the Pass Holder against the information stored for the relevant Merlin Adventure Pass.

§ 13 Limitation of Liability
13.1 Unlimited Liability
Irrespective of the legal basis of any claim, LEGOLAND's liability—including liability for wasted expenditure—shall be unlimited in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, including any omission.
13.2 Liability for Essential Contractual Obligations
In the event of a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations (being obligations whose fulfilment is fundamental to the proper performance of this Agreement and upon which the Pass Holder is ordinarily entitled to rely), LEGOLAND's liability shall be limited to losses that were foreseeable and typical at the time the Agreement was concluded.
13.3 Statutory Liability
Nothing in these General Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit LEGOLAND's liability:
- for death or personal injury; 
- for damage to health; 
- under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz); or 
- arising from expressly assumed guarantees or warranties. 
13.4 Exclusion of Further Liability
Except as expressly provided above, any further liability of LEGOLAND shall be excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13.5 Persons Covered
The foregoing limitations and exclusions of liability shall equally apply to LEGOLAND's employees, managing directors, managers, agents, representatives and other persons engaged in the performance of its obligations.

§ 14 Governing Law and Contact Details
14.1 Governing Law
These General Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mandatory consumer protection provisions of any other applicable jurisdiction shall remain unaffected.
There are no oral ancillary agreements.
Subject to Section 15, any amendments to these General Terms and Conditions shall be made in writing.
14.2 Severability
Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions be or become wholly or partially invalid, unenforceable or incapable of performance, the validity of the remaining provisions and of the Agreement as a whole shall remain unaffected.

§ 15 Amendments to these General Terms and Conditions
15.1 Amendments for Good Cause
LEGOLAND reserves the right to amend these General Terms and Conditions where there is good cause.
Good cause shall include, in particular:
- changes in applicable legislation; 
- changes in judicial decisions; or 
- significant changes in market conditions that were unforeseeable at the time the Agreement was concluded and were beyond LEGOLAND's control. 
Any amendment shall be limited to the extent reasonably necessary as a consequence of such circumstances and shall not unreasonably disadvantage the Pass Holder.
LEGOLAND will notify the Pass Holder of any such amendment at least one (1) month in advance using the contact details provided pursuant to Section 2, preferably by e-mail.
15.2 Other Amendments
In addition to the circumstances described in Section 15.1, LEGOLAND may amend this Agreement by giving at least one (1) month's prior notice using the contact details provided under Section 2, preferably by e-mail, provided that such amendment is reasonable after balancing the interests of Merlin and the Pass Holder.
Unless the Pass Holder objects to the proposed amendment within the period specified by LEGOLAND by using the contact details set out in Section 14.3, the amendment shall be deemed accepted.
LEGOLAND shall expressly draw the Pass Holder's attention to this legal consequence in the notice of amendment.
Where the Pass Holder submits a timely objection, the proposed amendment shall not take effect in relation to that Pass Holder.
